About the photographer

Motley Photography by Paul Cooper. Motley refers to the varied nature of my work ("an incongruous mixture: incongruously varied in appreance or character; disperate"), as I tend to cover all subjects including Landscape, Wildlife, Macro, Portrait, and Travel photography, although wildlife and macro are my current favourites. The other reason is that there are already so many 'Paul Cooper' photographers out there who have already grabbed the coolest web addresses ;-), and all of the other cool web addresses I wanted had gone too. So Motley Photography it is.

I was born in the mill town of Belper in Derbyshire in 1962. After leaving school at 16 (couldn't wait) I joined the Army and enjoyed a military career spanning 26 years. After leaving the Army I settled, with my wife and daughter, in Hereford.

Photography has always been part of my life but has often had to take a back seat due to work commitments. When I was in my 20's I was using Canon T70, and Bronica ETRS cameras to capture whatever I could.

Having more time on my hands I am now rediscovering photography and have converted to digital equipment.
